* Implant retained overdentures are an established treatment modality. ERA® abutments provide a resilient attachment with universal hinge movement.

1. What is the ERA Implant Abutment?
Titanium abutment, nylon male provides a resilient attachment with universal hinge movement.

2. How does it work?
Fixation:
One piece straight abutment-screwed into implant.
Two piece angled abutment-angled attachment female cemented into abutment base, base screwed into implant.
Nylon male-retained directly in processed denture acrylic or an ERA Metal Jacket.

3. The implants are not always parallel. How would the ERA be worked for that?
There are six angles to accommodate divergent implants:0 degrees (straight), 5 degrees, 11 degrees, 17 degrees, (and 23 degree, 30 degree for micro-only). Titanium nitride hardened to decrease attachment wear.

4. Do all implants fit?
Not all, a list is found on our ERA Implant Abutment Selection Guide and updated continually as warranted. ERA Abutments are manufactured for most popular screw and cylinder implants. Components and product numbers vary with the implant type.

5. Can angle correction procedures be done at initial exam?
Yes.
811186 ERA Correct Angle Guage, 0 degrees (straight)
811187 ERA Correct Angle Guage, 5 degrees
811188 ERA Correct Angle Guage, 11 degrees
811189 ERA Correct Angle Guage, 17 degrees

6. Can it be done in the lab also?
Yes, it requires an analog model and a surveyor. The use of non-engaging impression copings is required accurate recording of the implant thread timing.

7. How is the abutment tightened to the implant?
The abutment is tightened by hand with the ERA abutment wrench or by the torque driver and adapter.

8. If an angled correction abutment is used willthey fit over the cemented, angled pieces?
Yes.

9. What cements can be used?
ERA lock cement or any Dual cure composite cement that is familiar to you.

10. How many adjustment tools are necessary?
2 pieces (Dentist Tool Kit)
Six angles to accommodate divergent implants: 0°(straight), 5°, 11°, 17°, and (23°and 30° in micro-only).
Titanium nitride hardened to decrease attachment wear.
