Course Description:
This course will include clinical lecture and hands-on training which will give you the competence and confidence to begin placing single-tooth implants.
Learning objectives:
• Understand patient selection, site evaluation, imaging options, CBCT evaluation, and diagnosis.
• Review principles of single tooth implant placement indications and contraindications.
• Review the principles of bone quantity and quality.
• Understand principles of extraction, site preservation, bone modification, and simple bone grafting.
• Understand grafting, membrane, and suture materials.
• Fundamentals of site primary closure.
• Review implant instruments and armamentarium.
• Learn dental implant placement protocol.
• Principles of soft tissue management and implant maintenance.
• Review restorative options.
• Learn both conventional and digital workflow including final impressions and scanning.
Hands-On Exercise (Simulated mandible/maxilla)
• Place 4 conventional implants.
• Placement of graft and membrane.
• Suture implant site.
Featured Presenter: Matthew Hallas, DMD
Dr. Hallas received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Adelphi University in 2004. He graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2007 with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree, then went on to obtain an Advanced Specialty Education Program in Prosthodontics Residency from the University of Illinois in 2010.
Dr Hallas has lectured on dental implant planning, placement and restoration protocols and procedures throughout North America, and recently created a 5-part continuum webinar series for dental professionals on implant overdenture therapy. He is the founder/owner of Bay Lakes Center for Complex Dentistry in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
