SternVantage@reg; Light Body is a precision automix low viscosity polyvinyl siloxane impression material for crown, bridge, implant, prosthetics, inlay and onlay impressions. It can be extruded directly onto the teeth or the tray. It may be used as a correction material for the (two step) double or the (one step) two-phase impression technique in conjunction with SternVantage® Putty.
SternVantage® Light Body is now available in a safety cartridge. This new and improved cartridge design eliminates cross contamination between base and catalyst.
Contents:
2 double cartridges @ 60g each
12 mixing tips
12 intraoral tips

SternVantage® Light Body
1. What is the difference between the SternVantage® Light Body and Quick Light Body?
The main difference between the two materials has to do with time. The Light Body has a total working time of 2:15 minutes and the recommended time in the mouth is 3:30 minutes. In contrast, the Quick Light Body's total working time is 1:30 minutes and the recommended time in the mouth is 2:15 minutes. Also, the Light Body is orange in color and the Quick Light Body is green.
2. A "platinum catalyst" is a component of the Light Body. What is its purpose?
The presence of this component increases the stability of the material and increases the accuracy of the material. It is found in all SternVantage® impression materials. The platinum catalyst is the reaction partner for the base material. Its purpose is to induce the reaction kinetics. The final, set impression material is highly stable.
3. What is the composition?
Addition curing polyvinyl siloxanes, silicon dioxide, food pigments, additives, platinum catalyst.
4. What is the shelf life?
The shelf life is 3 years from the date of manufacture.
5. Why may the material not set up properly?
There may be a blockage in one or both of the cartridge outlets, thus resulting in an uneven mixing ratio of components. To ensure the proper mixing ratio of base and catalyst, make sure that both outlets are free of set material prior to attaching a new mixing tip. Also, leave the used mixing tip on the cartridge as a cap until the next use. Do not try to extrude material that has already cured in the mixing tip. This could result in leaks or cracks in the cartridge and prohibit its proper use.
